WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2025 - SCHOOL IS CLOSED

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, schools will be closed for Lunar New Year.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 28th & THURSDAY, JANUARY 30th - iREADY DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENTS

Students will be taking the iReady Diagnostic in ELA on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 and the iReady Diagnostic in Math on Thursday, January 30, 2025. This assessment will show the progress each student has made in ELA and math and let the teachers know how to best support your children. Please be sure your child comes to school on time!

THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 2025 - FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

Join us for our first Family Movie Night! On Thursday, January 30, 2025, our M.S. 129 scholars are invited with their families for a movie showing of "Inside Out 2". Popcorn will be served. Doors open at 4:30 PM. All students must be accompanied by family member 18 years old and up. Contact Ms. Bennett for more information.

MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2025 - SCHOOL IS CLOSED

All schools will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday.

WEDNESDAY, JANUUARY 22, 2025 - COMPUTER BASED TESTING CBT)

To prepare for the upcoming New York State Examinations, students the CBT will be administered. Please ensure your students are in school on time.

PICTURE ABSENTEE/RETAKE DAY - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2025

Students who were absent on Picture Day last month will be picked up to be photographed for the yearbook. Students who want to retake their pictures must return their picture package and will have their pictures taken at no additional charge.

Winter Break- schools closed

WINTER RECESS - SCHOOL REOPENS ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 2025

Winter recess for New York City public schools in 2024–2025 will be Monday, December 23, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. School reopens and classes resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

HOLIDAY SPIRIT WEEK - DECEMBER 16-DECEMBER 20, 2024

Students are invited to participate in Holiday Spirit Week from Monday, December 16, 2024 to Friday, December 20, 2024. The Holiday Spirit Week flyer was sent out to all families with the details. Students who do not wish to participate in Holiday Spirit Week must wear their school uniform.

Thank you to all of our scholars who participated in the M.S. 129 School-wide Spelling Bee. The first and second place winners, Ryan Hair and Angel Flores have been entered into the Regional Spelling Bee Competition.

PICTURE DAY- THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2024

School-wide Picture Day takes place on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Students must wear their school uniform. ALL students will be photographed for the school yearbook. Picture Day flyers were distributed to the students. Order envelopes with cash payment online payment receipt must be given directly to the photographer.
