On Thursday, November 14, 2024, students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM for Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be held from 12:20 PM-2:20 PM and 4:30 PM-7:30 PM. Use the Staff Directory to contact your child's teacher to set up conferences.

Schools will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veteran's Day.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, schools will be closed for students.

It's Red Ribbon Week at M.S. 129! Join the annual awareness campaign that aims to prevent violence, drugs, tobacco, smoking, and alcohol. Support the campaign by dressing up in the Red Ribbon Week themes listed on the flyer. See Ms. Font if you have any questions.

School is closed on Friday, November 1, 2024 in observance of Diwali. Also known as Deepavali, this is the Hindu festival of lights, with variations celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance"

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, families are invited to the High School for Fashion Industries located at 225 West 24th Street, New York, NY 10011. Hear from NYC Pubic Schools and other city agencies on interventions and resources for students and families available through schools and community partners to mitigate community violence.

All 8th grade parents who were unable to attend the 8th grade parent meeting last week should join the Virtual 8th grade parent meeting this Saturday, October 19, 2024. There will be a session at 11:00 AM (English) and 12:00 PM (Spanish). Please register in advance. Contact Ms. Rosario if you have any questions.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024 there will be a meeting for parents of English Language Learners. Families will learn about the upcoming afterschool program to prepare the children for the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT). Parents may attend one of two sessions: 8:30 AM-9:30 AM and 3:30 PM-4:30 PM.

Parents are invited for a workshop to learn about the many resources available to help your children and family. Workshop takes place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 4:30-5:30 PM. See attached flyer for details.

8th grade parents are invited to a meeting on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 to learn about the high school articulation process. Information will also be discussed about 8th grade "senior" activities, such as prom , trip, and graduation. Two sessions are offered: 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM.
